3D Design & Printing
About
3D printing is a revolutionary process that allows an individual to be their own manufacturer. In the past, people relied on mass production of objects. Today, we can create models of practically anything to print and use in a number of contexts. Whether you need a part for your washing machine or an action figure of your favorite superhero, 3D printing is a viable and affordable option.
CR-X Pro
Our newest 3D printer is the Creality CR-X Pro dual color printer. The printer is a FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printer that uses PLA (polylactic acid) Filament, which is a non-toxic plastic derived from corn starch. The filament is heated through an extruder which then creates a model by laying down successive layers of material.
CR-X Pro Print Pricing
For each job, a $3 setup fee will be assessed. There will also be a cost for the material used billed at $0.05/gram. These fees will be added to your University account.
